Did y’all know that DJ Envy got caught up in some hot mess? If y’all don’t know who DJ Envy is, he is a famous hip-hop radio host. The allegations were said to be that he used his status as a celebrity to aid in a Ponzi-like real-estate scam, according to Billboard. A Ponzi scheme is a form of fraud that involves the culprit puts a front of having a real business by using the money that they received from the new victims and then using those funds to pay their older victims.

Back in May 2023, an Instagram account that goes by TonyTheCloser claimed that Cesar Pina, who’s a good friend of DJ Envy, illustrated this Scam and that DJ Envy basically cosigned this ccam along with him. He came onto the Radio Show and both celebrities used their statuses to sell this scam to them. Essentially, in June 2022, Pina came on The Breakfast Club to promote his investment platform called Flip 2 Dao, users would be able to make small incremental investments in real estate projects. On this episode, many claimed that DJ Envy would emphasize his relationship with Pina and this new investment scheme. However, when Pina was hit with numerous civil lawsuits DJ Envy immediately denied these allegations. DJ Envy believes that he was also duped and was a victim to his friend scheme because he also invested $500,000 into some of Pina’s projects. All in all, DJ Envy believes that Pina used him and his show to push this scheme and that he did not have any parts in what was going on behind closed doors.

I don’t know about y’all, but it seems that celebrities have been getting caught up in various scams, so my question is what’s good in Hollywood? These scams have been getting out of hand lately, and it seems like they are trying to keep up with a lifestyle that may not be as attainable for them anymore. I know that everyone is going through a hard time right now, and these celebrities are getting a taste of it as well. Why are they turning to scams? Why not go back to 9-5s? I think that their personas are more important to them than their values at this point. They have been so out of touch with reality lately. I hope they know there isn’t anything wrong with a 9-5, and they may need to give it a try sometimes.
