Welcome Back, Family!
It’s been a long time coming but its finally a new year which means finally another year of Black Ink!
First and foremost, thank you for tuning into our first issue of the 2018-2019 school year. As always, we at Black Ink are so grateful for you because without you, our audience, we would be nothing. So, shout out to y’all for sticking with Black Ink as we enter our 49th year!
Since the summer and start of the new year, Black Ink is under ALL NEW LEADERSHIP and we have NEW STAFF!! Click this link to see some of your faves from campus on our new and improved staff!
We are so excited to welcome the newest additions to our family of staff, and even more excited to bring y’all the revolutionary media that we’re known for.
This month’s issue is inspired by our beloved BSM’s “Black by Popular Demand” theme as seen in this month’s cover. Though we took a hiatus over the summer, we are back, better, and BLACKER THAN EVER! With that being said, you can look forward to powerful pieces in this issue highlighting many hot topics of the summer and fall of 2018. This month we’re touching everything from the #MeToo movement to the conversation-starting Netflix film, Nappily Ever After.
Per usual, we hope you hear us, feel us, and enjoy the content we’ve worked so hard to bring you this month. Thank you so much for your continued love and loyalty to Black Ink Magazine. We’re eternally grateful.
With Love,
Carla L. Beachem (’20), Editor-in-Chief
P.S. We didn’t forget #DHOESzn is right around the corner either! Enjoy this throwback piece from former staff writer, Madison Langston (’19) to get you ready for the festivities!
