DHOE is not something one just wakes up to do. DHOE requires certain preparations beforehand. Some networking should take place at least a week in advance of Homecoming, to ensure that you obtain the necessary tools for this occasion. A good night’s sleep the night before is also important, though highly unlikely, so try to prepare well in advance for resting when possible. An unkown genius one said “life is not a sprint, it’s a marathon.” Another unknown genius then came along and mentioned: “DHOE isn’t a sprint, it’s a maraton.” For those who have never experienced DHOE (believe the hype) and for those who haven’t experienced a successful DHOE yet, here are a few helpful tips.

Don’t leave your friends. If you came to the function with them, leave the function with them. Their L is your L.

Hydrate. Hydration is key. Drink plenty (PLENTY) of water. Don’t wait until the parties have started to decide you need hydration. It’ll be too late.

Only your pace matters. Do not, I repeat do NOT, try to keep up with anyone else. DHOE is not a competition, it’s a journey.

Eat. Do not slack on eating. Yes, there is a lot going on and you don’t want to miss anything, but it’s not that big of a deal. Remember to still eat all three meals (or at least one) every day.

DISCLAIMER: You could honestly incorporate all of these into your day and still catch this DHOE L, but that’s the thrill of it. Be legal, be safe, be moral. Happy DHOE!
