On Friday 26th, Black UNC took part in a growing movement across college campuses. In conjunction with BSM and Black Congress, Black Ink captured students as they gathered in the Pit to show off their bonnets and durags. Inspired by similar events on campuses like NC A&T State University and Morehouse College across the nation, Black students at UNC came together in a beautiful display of Blackness and solidarity in a place and time when such solidarity seems hard to find. It was a great start to the Homecoming season, and we hope everyone’s weekend is as safe and moisturized as our hair under our bonnets.
