I Love Black History Month
When I walk in stores I see people who look like me as soon as I walk in
I go to my local Target, Sally’s Beauty,and Walmart and I finally see what was initially in the back
Have the products found a new permanent home or is the front just a rental spot?

A lease that would terminate after the last day of the only month people seem to acknowledge
the names, brands, and faces of beautiful and intelligent black men and women
Why is it that our creations are being forced upon consumers?
Why must you display your appreciation for Black culture and pride?
Are you afraid we’ll think you’re no longer an ally if you don’t embed your white savior complex
in the crates and bins that hold Shea Moisture and more?
Why must this be the only month you promote items that deserve recognition regardless of
race?
Why are you capitalizing on our black skin?
Why must you love Black History Month and not Black entrepreneurs throughout the year?
