HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH FAMILY!
I may be biased in saying this, but it is definitely the greatest month of the year. Think about it, Black History Month, valentine’s day, my Birthday (aka everyone’s favorite national holiday), and of course all of the festivities that BSM puts on for us all happen in a span of 28, fist-raising, durag wearing, revolutionary days. I don’t know about yall, but I am feeling GOOD (and that’s word to Mama Nina).
With that being said, Black Ink is back at you with our Black History Month issue! You can expect a wide range of content in this month’s issue addressing R. K*lly, Black representation in various realms, the return of our good brother Soulja Boy, and another one of our HUES features!
Per usual, we at Black Ink are forever grateful for you! As creatives, our voices only have an impact when endowed by our audience and your endowment means everything to us! Without you Black Ink wouldn’t be, so thank you for YOUR dedication to revolutionary media! As a show of our appreciation, I’ll leave you with this announcement:
In the month of April, Black Ink will be back with our annual LDOC/People’s Issue! For those of you who may not know (heyyy UNC’22), the Black Ink People’s Issue is the one issue of the year where we take submissions from ANY and EVERYONE regardless if you’re on our staff. And you didn’t hear this from me, but word on the street is this year’s LDOC issue will be PRINTED which means if you are chosen to submit a piece for this issue, there will always be a physical memento of your personal contribution to the rich history of Black Ink Magazine! We love y’all and we know you love us so this is your chance to create the media you digest every month! If interested, please fill out this form by March 13th, 2019!!!
Thank you so much! Please enjoy this month’s issue!
Peace, Love, and Blackness,
Carla L. Beachem (’20), Editor-in-Chief
