‘Twas the night before LDOC,
And on both North and South Campus, through all of UNC
Black UNC prepared for the next day’s festivities with glee.
Water bottles were filled to the brim and handled with care,
(But there would be nary a drop of water up in there!)
Bonnets and durags were firmly secured before folks retired to their beds,

As visions of laid edges and 360 waves danced through their heads.
Twitter was jumping, but Instagram timelines lay bare,
In preparation for all of the photo-shoots to soon be on there.
The Kappas polished their canes, and the Ques practiced their hopping.
And in spite of their downstairs neighbors’ complaints, there would be no stopping.

UNC’18, survivors of many a LDOC, DHOE, and TT,
Bitter-sweetly reflected on all their lituation themed memories.
“It’s a marathon, not a sprint,” these seasoned veterans cautioned,
Knowing that despite their best efforts, half of UNC’21 would be slumped mid-afternoon and not take this precaution.

Bodysuits, t-shirt dresses, shorts and rompers lay in wait for fits to be formed,
Because cold weather or not, these summer clothes are getting worn.
If you remember nothing else, take with you this theme:
Regardless of what you think you see, understand, it wasn’t me.
As both this night and your attention span wanes,
In closing, let this author just say:
Be it your first, or your last, tomorrow have the time of your life.
Happy LDOC to all, and to all, GET RIGHT!
