HAPPY LDOC Y’ALL!!!

*sings* It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!

Welcome to the final Black Ink issue of the 2017-2018 school year. This year has been one for the books which is befitting considering this year we brought in the Black Student Movement’s 50-year milestone. It has been an honor and a blessing to have such a loyal audience to rock with us the way you all have. For that reason, we bring to you this month the second edition of our LDOC/People’s Issue. This issue contains not only features from the class of 2018, but it also contains all your LDOC needs like the LDOC survival guide (Heyy Ari). This is NOT the issue you want to miss.

Since this is the end of the year, I just want to take the time to thank the entire Black Ink Staff for the work that you all have put in this year. Your dedication to revolutionary media keeps me going. I am forever grateful for you all and I can’t wait to go into next year full throttle. Y’all are the GOAT. I couldn’t ask for a better staff. THANK YOU.

To the executive team, THANK YOU! Your unwavering support of me throughout this transition period has been unmatched. I’ve always admired you all and being welcomed into this team has turned my admiration into love. For that, I’m grateful. With that being said, I am so sad to see you all transition out of Black Ink, but I promise to continue to work to make sure all the work you’ve put in here isn’t in vain. Y’all have taught me well so I will make you proud.

Alright, I’m done with all the sentimental stuff. I just can’t stress how full my heart is right now. Thank you all again and again.

Please enjoy this issue. Per usual we’ve put our hearts into it and my hope is that you see that in this issue and every issue we have to come.

With Love and Gratitude,

Carla Beachem (’20), Editor-in-Chief Intern
